If you want to be a bodybuilder
If you want to be a bodybuilder, the first thing you must understand is that you are NOT one. Most people decide they want to be a bodybuilder, pick up a copy or "Flex" or "Muscular Development" and then copy the routines from the best bodybuilders in the world, with the best genetics, and using a LOT of steroids. Some of these guys starting training from day one "like bodybuilders" using lots of lifts, sets, and frequency, and it worked because of THEIR genetics. Most started lifting on basic strength routines, often while playing sports.
You need to first build a base of strength by doing basic strength style training, and then SOME of you will be able to add a good deal of volume. Staring out on a 5 day split is fools work for average lifters. By all means if it satisfies your curiosity, train this way for awhile. If you are a newbie=1-8 months, you may gain very well like this as almost anything works for beginners. THAT is exactly what most beginners do. They get interested in lifting, do a "pro" style routine, get newbie gains, then when it quits working they are at a total loss and can't believe less training can be the answer. Hell, most of them ADD volume when they get stuck.
Start and proceed from the beginning and you will find things go much easier and results are MUCH better.
